Alicia Burga

Dr. Alicia Burga is a researcher working in the Natural Language Processing Group at the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, since October 2010. After receiving her B.A. in linguistics from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, she went to USA to obtain a PhD. in linguistics (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2008), where she focused on syntax. She decided to widen her career scope doing an International Master in Natural Language Processing and Human Language Technology (Autonomous University of Barcelona & University of Wolverhampton/Erasmus Mundus Program, 2008-2010), period in which she had the opportunity to know the TALN group and make an internship with them. Currently, her work is focused on text generation and compilation/annotation of multilingual and multilevel corpora, framed within the EU-funded PEsCaDO project.
